Project Overview
AURA Architecture developed a residential strategy for a former industrial garage and workshop on a constrained infill site close to central Croydon.
Design & Planning Strategy
The wider design strategy combines conversion with a new-build element, using the backland site more effectively while responding to neighbours, access and industrial character. Sustainability measures include rainwater harvesting, air-source heat pumps and solar PV.
Development Value & Outcome
The scheme is described as 13 converted units plus eight new-build apartments, with yellow stock brick and exposed metalwork creating a contemporary response rooted in the site’s industrial character.
